Newsletters: September and October covered how CTAC’s Clone Working Dog puppy program Morton/Method develops the Hunt and the Fight with K9 Apache™1 at 8 weeks of age, the first clone from the Apache™ Brand. Building on the foundation at an early age creates positive habits, routines, and muscle memory. A foundation established with patience and raising the bar/standard of what is expected. Comparing Apache™1 to Apache Actual; they exhibit the same personality – both were trained at CTAC’s training facility since adolescence.
Progress this past month proves again the success of the Morton/Method training style. We took a break while Apache™1 was teething. We also changed his living arrangements to stimulate his drive to work and continued to build on the Hunt and confidence in NARC detection. We pushed more advanced hides, as well as, worked basic obedience (Morton/Method – Hip Lead). However ultimately our goal was to build confidence and motivation.
Once his adult canine teeth came in, it didn’t take long for Apache™1 to pick up where we left off. We worked bite release drills in the Morton/Method training style. As you will see in video, we build on the fight at a young age – not the bite quality; Morton/Method vs. Sport Dog mindset. Once again there is a voiceover to talk about points of performance.
